Events, Medical Congresses, Industry Conferences & Events

August was a big month for the Marketing team, highlighted by our presence at ESC 2025. Our large booth successfully scanned over 600 badges and gathered excellent member testimonials, including one cardiologist from Ghana who called Medscape "our saviors". Such feedback is invaluable, reminding us of the impact of our work.

We also hosted a supporter event on Sunday 31st August which attracted 23 supporters across 12 pharma companies to the roof top in the heart of Madrid to hear from a panel of experts and enjoy some traditional flamenco dancing.

The 26th annual Las Vegas Dermatology conference was a success, bringing together 254 attendees for a unique educational experience. This event featured exceptional and informative presentations in a personalized environment, earning praise from participants. One attendee raved, "Love the conferences that Medscape puts on! Small, intimate with all the relevant talks. I attend one of these every year!"

Stay tuned for a slide that showcases the impact of the meeting.

We hosted an event aboard the historic Moshulu in Philadelphia on September 8, during the AIS conference. The gathering featured special guests Matt Lewis, Founder, Transformental and our very own Dr. Sushant Dahiya, who shared Medscape’s perspective on the future of AI in medical education. This event provided a great opportunity for thought-provoking conversation and networking.

The social giants are stirring things up. Meta is fine-tuning how brands can show up, Threads is testing new ways to spark conversation, and Pinterest is nudging its platform into the world of education. From ads to communities to classrooms, the latest moves show how platforms are evolving beyond their roots - and hint at where user attention might be headed next.

Threads introduce communities
Communities Come to Threads
Threads is testing a new “Communities” feature, mirroring X’s groups, to spark topic-driven discussions and deeper engagement. By connecting like-minded users, Threads hopes to boost interaction, sharpen its algorithm, and lure conversations away from X. While still in development, Communities could become Threads’ key to standing out, if users embrace the shift.
Pinterest introduces educational hub
Pinterest Backs Educators
Pinterest has rolled out its first-ever “Educators’ Fund” to support U.S. creators making classroom-focused content. Part of the new Pinterest for Teachers hub, the initiative offers training, resources, and limited cash grants to help educators integrate Pins into learning. While it’s geared toward teachers and early education, it signals a broader shift. Does this open the door to how Pinterest could also support lifelong learning and even CME in the future?
Threads introduces new ads
Fresh Ads Hit Reels & Threads
At its Brand Building Summit, Meta unveiled new ad formats for Reels and Threads, plus smarter AI targeting tools. Reels trending ads let brands appear alongside the hottest content, while Threads gets carousels, catalog ads, and expanded image options, even for businesses without a Threads account. Meta is also rolling out “value rules” for awareness and engagement campaigns, giving marketers more control over who sees their ads, and early tests show big boosts in high-value conversions.
